Chimp Spanner is a solo progressive metal project lead by a man called Paul Ortiz. After two CD’s, Chimp Spanner released All Roads Lead Here, an instrumental, progressive, djent masterpiece.  In my experience, a lot instrumental metal bands fall back into the crowd as they aren’t personal enough. As there are no vocals, the instruments have to step up and take their place to capture and draw in the listener. All Roads Lead Here does this amazingly well.

You could seriously close your eyes and listen to this EP and you would feel like you were cruising through a city from the future. There are some bits in this EP which feel like this is what music would be like in the future. The jazz influences in this EP are very evident fused in with the progressive metal and the Guitar tones are phenomenal. 

Chimp Spanner hasn’t hit it big time yet, but I can see them getting as big as Cloudkicker or Animals as Leaders after a few more releases. So I recommend anyone who enjoys them to support and buy his music.
